Estates and Trust Planning and Administration

Ethridge Quinn attorneys are committed to assisting each individual client with the preparation of an estate plan designed to promote the client’s goals and aspirations. Our estate planning attorneys work to develop strong trusting relationships in order to best understand each client’s current and future assets, retirement plans, relevant health issues, desires for the future disposition of property and assets, potential special needs, and to learn about the important and trusted individuals in the client’s life that will help us draft and implement the client’s estate plan.

The estate planning process begins with a conversation, because estate planning clients, and their needs and desires, are extremely diverse. Our clients are young single individuals just getting started in adulthood, growing families looking to insure the future of their young children. Our clients are also successful and established business owners, retirees looking to protect and preserve their assets during retirement and maybe beyond. Our clients may be people requiring a pre-nuptial or post-nuptial agreement to control the distribution of assets and wealth demanding great specificity. And, our clients are people desiring to create a charitable giving strategy. An open, frank, and sometimes extensive dialogue is required to fully identify what each client deems important and sometimes to uncover issues, the importance of which went unappreciated before.

After each client’s needs and desires are fully identified, our attorneys put their extensive drafting experience to work. Our attorneys use many documents, including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Advance Health Care Directives, Revocable Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts, Family Limited Liability Companies, Pre-nuptial Agreements, Post-nuptial Agreements, and other documents to create a specific plan focused on the client’s needs and desires.

Many clients have family members who face health issues, disability or incapacity, or other issues creating special needs. For these clients, special planning may be appropriate to include special needs trusts or consideration of guardianship proceedings. Ethridge Quinn’s lawyers are experienced with assisting clients to meet these challenges.

Our lawyers also boast many years of experience helping clients with the administration of estates and trusts. Experiencing the loss of a loved one is a traumatic and stressful event frequently demanding professional guidance. Our staff and lawyers are equipped with the skills and understanding necessary to guide our clients and to relieve stress associated with estate administration.
